Chiropractic Care

The word “chiropractic” comes from ancient Greek and means “done by hand.” Adjustment of the joints of the body has been used in the healing arts for many centuries and is at the heart of modern chiropractic care.

Spinal and Joint Manipulation

Manipulation of the body’s joints is a manual therapeutic practice that has been around for thousands of years. It is a hands on treatment intervention intended to increase the movement of the body’s joints when they are stiff or restricted through a quick and controlled procedure to alleviate pain and restore normal motion. The Chiropractor contacts specific locations throughout the body with their hands and delivers a small therapeutic thrust to the targeted joint in order to achieve the healing effect. Manipulation is safe and comfortable and has a profound effect on the entire muscular, nervous and skeletal systems of the body.

Active Release Technique

Active release technique therapy or “A.R.T” as it is commonly referred to is a manual therapy that targets the muscles of the body and releases the tension and tightness in them that builds up through sports and repetitive strain. By applying a gentle contact to specific muscles and stretching them through a precise movement pattern, A.R.T is extremely effective at restoring function, lengthening muscles and alleviating the bodily tightness that builds up in all of us.

Orthotics

Orthotics are custom measured and made inserts designed to fit into shoes with the intention of helping support and correct pain in not only the foot but also the knees, hips and low back as well. People take thousands of steps each day and often require additional support under their feet to maintain proper posture and function. As orthotics are custom made for each individual, they form  perfectly to a person’s unique foot shape and act to provide the specific purpose required to correct each person’s imbalance and pain. The difference between orthotics and store bought inserts is principally that they are custom made for the contours of the patient’s foot, extremely durable and long lasting and modifiable to be manufactured with additional bracing and support specific to different needs. Orthotics are very effective are alleviating a wide variety of lower body aliments and can help people return to activities that once were too painful for them to enjoy.
